LiL’ Momma asked:

I have a 7 week old little girl and I want to have her start sleeping in her own room in her crib. But I tried last night and all she did was scream. I tried to let her cry it out for a few minutes but she never fell asleep. I picked her up and rocked her to sleep and then put her in her crib but she woke up after about 5 minutes and wouldn’t stay asleep in her crib. Any advise?

How difficult is it to move your child from a crib to a toddler bed?

Lesley C asked:

My twins are almost two and have learned how to climb into each others cribs. Sometimes they fall on the floor when they do this, so I’m thinking toddler bed time. Should I give them seperate beds, or should they share a queen bed? They shared a crib until they were 7 or 8 months and would fit any more.
Do you think it would be harder with one bed or two? And do you think if they are in the same room still that it will even be possible to keep them in their beds at all? How do I even attempt this?

We have a Pali crib that can be converted into a “big kid” bed. I’ve lost the instructions and Pali’s website does not have information on this particular model. Any thoughts?

I have a 7 week old daughter who was 6 weeks premature. Tonight will be her first night in her crib. How long should I let her cry before I go to her? I am a first time mom and unsure of how to handle this.

Lyra Vanessa asked:

The crib I have has been passed down thru all of the Grandkids. Somehow in the move 5 years ago, the metal box spring was lost. The crib is about 11 years old and is a Jenny Lind crib. Does anyone know where I could find one?

How can I keep my cats out of the baby’s crib?

sarah lane asked:

Don’t worry, the baby wasn’t in it; she’s not born yet.

There’s no door on her nursery so I can’t close it. I filled the crib with a few boxes and bags so that if the cat were to jump in it, she would jump back out, but this morning she jumped in there, anyway. How can I keep her out of there? I can’t keep an eye on her twenty four hours a day and I don’t want her getting in there once the baby’s here.

How do I get my 6 week old baby to sleep in the crib instead of the bassinet?

MSA2004 asked:

Baby sleeps in 3-5 hour segments - in the bassinet, in my arms or in the bed next to us. However, when placed in his room in his crib, he will wake up within 1 hour. He will soon outgrow the bassinet and have to sleep in the crib. HELP!!!! Thanks!
I am not trying to make him do for himself at this age. However, he needs to get used to sleeping in the crib because he just will not fit into the bassinet much longer! I will try swaddling him more often when he sleeps. I notice that he startles pretty easy, which is common in newborns. He is already close to 24 inches long and bassinets aren’t designed for sleeping in past 3 months anyhow for most kids. Thanks everyone who responded. It helps!
My baby weighs more than 10 lbs. Closer to 12-13 now. Was 10-7 at last appointment. Currently sleeps for hours in swing, bassinet or my arms. Will outgrow swing and bassinet (size wise) and needs to sleep in crib. Will take naps in crib, but not longer than 45 minutes. Thanks for the hints & tips everyone.

The bitter wife asked:

Does anyone know of a simple way to make a crib for a small 9.5 inch doll? Where I don’t have to use a saw or crochet? Something easy. Thanks.
