How do you start selling diaper cakes?

I am wanting to sell diaper cakes but I don’t know how much money it would take to start and how to advertise. Also, can you even make money doing this?

If you do it out of your home I am sure you could make money at it. Not enough to live on or even buy your weekly groceries, but you’d make some money.
Advertise on craigslist. Your start up costs will just be a few sample cakes… make some for your friends so you can take pictures… or just sell your samples… do you research and price out different kinds of ribbon and decorations for your cake. For now you can just buy what you need when you get an order and in the future you could slowly build a decent stock of stuff in your house.

as long as you can sell the diaper cakes for more than it costs for materials you can make money selling them, i would make up a few different ones, take pictures and advertise, try your local paper, flyers, word of mouth, even craigslist, i have seen diaper cakes where instead of diapers they used receiving blankets for the middle this was very cute also, good luck

Start selling at craft fairs, online (e-bay, craigslist, etc.), start your own online website.
Put an ad in your local mailers, newspaper, make flyers and take them to your local grocery stores, boutiques, kids stores, etc.
You can also go around to local businesses that sell children’s item and see if they want to buy your product to sell in their stores.
Research the prices online… I know they are not cheap. Most come with a lot of other baby items in the middle of the cake too and those sell for more. I want to say over $100each.

i would DEFINATLY start selling them locally at first or just all together if you can. They are hard to ship because they are very fragile and much movement makes the pieces all fall off and around, and when the customer gets it it doesnt look so good and its all on your end to fix it or get negative advertising for it. Try craft fairs, local paper, local shoppers..etc

Put fliers up outside babiesRus and baby stores to get people who are interested in baby things looking your way. Whether they are going to the store to pick up a present on a registry or they are the person having the baby, they will see your flier.
