What are some good affordable diaper covers for cloth diapers?
DiaperI smile because of them ? asked:
I’m looking for a cloth diaper cover. I good one and I prefer one with touchtape and not snaps. I’m going to use prefolds I think so I’m looking for a cover for them. Any advice and how many would I need and what prefold to go with besides Gerber.

Dappi makes good cheap covers!
I would want to start out with at least 50 prefolds. I bought mine on ebay.

I had a really hard time finding them! I don’t know the brand, but the only place I could find the diaper covers were at KMart…and they were elastic waist and leg bands.

Bummis Super Whisper Wraps are none too exciting, but they really work and last a long, long time. I have 5 for my six month old, and that’s plenty for us.

prowraps are a fave among many cloth diapering mommies
look on ebay….and forget cheap Gerber prefolds…unless you buy Diaper Service Quality from Gerber and i also see those ebay
i think Hemp blends make the best diapers……and if you prefer flats and prefolds then i have also seen hemp in prefold variety…..i personally use fitted hempys and i LOVE them
do a search engine for diaper covers, wraps and look at some opinion sites

Thirsty covers are AWESOME! I love them. Bummis are good too, but Thirsties have an extra lip around the leg. Great for breastfed baby poo.
And as far as prefolds, to get good quality, buy online. Buy Indian or Chinese prefolds. Then wash them 3-5 times before your baby even wears them. This makes them more absorbent.

I have bought many different kinds, and so far my favorite are Prowraps, Thirsties, Bumpkins, and Litewraps. The Prowraps and Litewraps are each around $7. The Bumpkins and Thirsties are both around $12. Make sure and find a website that has free shipping on covers. I know there are some but didn’t catch on until after I had bought some and paid for shipping.
