What is the best type of stroller for travelling round japan and australia?
Baby Strollerssarahlouisedelvin asked:
I am taking my 18 month old to australia in Feb 09 and will be visiting japan. I want to take a stroller that will be convenient to travel with, but that also gives sam a confortable ride and may enable him to sleep in it. Any UK brands that people can recommend?

While I cannot recommend anything specific, I’d look for a stroller that faces you while pushing it, as well as a light creme or white color for the Outback. While traveling, I’d use the stroller you choose only for your baby. Instead of packing things in the stroller, take a backpack. This is an overall safer choice for you and your baby.

I have seen light umbrella type stollers that do the whole “lay back” thing most heavy stollers do. If you have the money you may want to just buy stollers at the places you go to depending on how much the airline will cost you.

I’m not sure if these are available in the UK, but ‘Maclaren’ brand strollers are good. We can get them at Toys’r'us here in Aus and at any good baby store. They are a little pricier but they fold up like umbrella style, are easy to manouver with heavier/older children and lay back flat for sleeping. They are pretty sturdy and reliable strollers.
Have fun on your trip! I live in Australia and highly recommend visiting Queensland but be prepared for the hot weather that time of year! Make sure you bring wide brimmed hats and plenty of sunscreen!
In reponse to the first answerer, DO NOT get a light cream or white coloured stroller! There is pretty much red dirt every where out there and your lovely new stroller will be a wreck before you know it. Stick to black, navy etc….
Have you thought about just buying on when you get here? Toys r us and target are pretty much everywhere (not to mention baby shops) and you could get one for between $50-$100 and it would save you having to take it on the plane with you. Just a thought
