Any suggestions? I am having a girl in may and have difficulties on choosing the right items to purchase. I need to buy a stroller soon.

We bought a graco travel system, its pretty handy, and not too comlicated, the seat is also a car seat, so it means not having to buy the 2 seperately.

None. Newborns should be in a parent’s arms. Get a sling or other soft carrier; worry about a stroller when baby gets to be too heavy.
No actual newborn would elect to be in a bunch of metal and plastic over being carried on Mummy or Daddy’s body… Certainly a big pile of metal and plastic isn’t necessary to tote around ten pounds, too.

My favorite stroller is the Jeep Terrain Stroller.. it works well on hiking trails and it’s affordable at only $140. The only drawback is that it is bulky and a little bit heavier.. I don’t suggest buying this stroller unless you have an SUV or a larger vehicle. It is definitely not a grocery store stroller.. but works great on exercise walks and hiking trails. For shopping, I just use the Baby Bjorn or Carseat. Best Wishes!

just make sure you get one that reclines, or get a travel system (that the car seat goes with so you can just pop out the infant seat & put it on the frame)
i opted for a convertible car seat that can be used with an infant, so i couldn’t get a travel system. i also wanted one that i could take to the park, so it needed to be able to handle some less than perfect terrain… so i opted for the Jeep Liberty LImited Urban Terrain stroller myself. haven’t received it yet, though!

I have a travel system by Graco. So far I like it. Plop the carseat on top of the stroller and you’re ready to go. When he’s able to sit up by himself, then just use the stroller by itself.

Hmmm, I definitely know friends who have purchased both a Graco Travel System and then those who have the Chicco Travel System. The Graco had a ton of compliments b/c it’s very big, bulky, and heavy. I’ve had several return them to get something lighter when the baby was born. Everyone seems to love the Chicco system, no complainants there. I myself am looking, I’m looking into a Zooper with an infant car seat adapter. Good luck!!!

This is the one I bought and I LOVE IT!!! The harness and the headrest adjust by turning a nob in the back, insead of having to lossen and unlossen a bunch of stuff. It was rated the safest infant carrier. I would not have chose anything else. my son is 6 weeks and he fits great in it, almost like it swaddles him. And he was a premie!! Go check it out. Congrats

I just picked up a stroller today, and although I’m not in the US, I looked for the stroller that would last the longest. The one I ended up getting will be usable from birth up until 3-4 years - and will still fit in the trunk of our car.
My suggestions:
1.) Know your budget limits
2.) Know your habits - do you take walks everyday, or such activities where you’ll need to use it daily, or will it be an occasional item used? (If only used occasionally or rarely, I’d recommend a sling more than a stroller)
3.) Does it fit in your current car, and if needs, can you travel with it? Buying a huge stroller is nice, but not when it’s larger than your car and too large to take on a plane anywhere.

My baby is now 5 weeks old. I did ALOT of research on strollers/carseats and the best seems to be Chicco. I love it! The stroller strolls nice and baby has lots of room. The carseat is wonderful its a “keyfit” the easiest one to use. It is extremely safe and secure and depending on the make/model of your vehicle it is a cinch to install! Check it out..also go on Babies R Us website and they have lots of reviews from parents, that will help you in making a decision. But in all reality alot of the strollers are built really well nowadays so I dont believe there is an unsafe horrible one. But depending which features you prefer, you can narrow your selection..
